T'nalak Festrival 2015

Last July 10-18, 2015 was probably the most awesome week of my year because of South Cotabateños' celebration of T'nalak Festival and Founding Anniversary of the province.

Mostly every night, we stroll at the Alunan Avenue to see the colorful lights and bandiritas which are bringing a positive fiesta vibe.  Enjoy photos below and plan to join us next year as we celebrate the Golden Founding Anniversary of South Cotabato.

we're all set for a happy adventure!

our designated area was at purok damsite, brgy saravia. i wanna have more pics near the dam but i'm afraid i would fall. the water current was so strong. i still wanna live.

Tree Growing Festival 2015 Part 1

When I was in high school I was a member of Save Mother Earth Movement (SMEM), a semi- academic organization lead by the college students of Notre Dame of Marbel University, Korondal City. I didn't realize how serious climate change back then until today that I'm already working here in Koronadal City where I experience the flood when heavy rain falls and then I had the so-this-is-how-it-feels-to-live-in-the-flood-prone-area statement.

Five years ago, a resolution creating The Tree Growing Festival in Korondal City was made to promote reforestation in the high lands of Koronadal. This is a non-working local holiday encouraging every institution in Koronadal City to participate.

Now that I'm already an adult, I practice what I learned from my high school days. Despite the mosquito bites I might get from the mountains where we plant, I still volunteer to help save the ecosystem.

Woke up early at 4am to prepare for a 6am jump off. I went to the clinic and drink coffee with this happy and excited gals before going to the round ball where opening ceremony is held annually.

LGU employees assigned to guide us in our area.

Most of us didn't eat breakfast since we have to wake up too early hence this lady bought some puto para panlamang tiyan.

At around 6:30 am, participants were off to their respective areas to plant trees. These are college students trying to fit in the truck.
