He
was a bouncy little boy born on October 6, 1993 in Quijano Clinic and Hospital,
Tacurong City. He was the youngest among the six children of Nelson and Alba
Aguilar, a farmer and a housewife.
He
used to have a happy childhood days at the small farmland away from the hustle
and bustle of the city. With the slow pace of life in the countryside he never worry
about going to the mall and watch movies or play Xbox with a friend instead he enjoyed
climbing fruit bearing trees, feeding pigs, ducks and chickens, catching fishes
at the pond and riding a carabao. His life was great with crazy at times elder
brothers and sisters who keep on ordering him to get them water or wash dishes
or bring them something and since he’s the youngest the poor boy has just to
follow. He feels so great growing up in the big families like theirs cause he
always have ates and kuyas to help him in his projects and assignments.
As
time flies, life changes, priorities change and here comes the school. From the
experience of being in the class, he begin to live a new and interesting life
and then he started dreaming big that someday he would have a DVM (Doctor in
Veterinary Medicine) attached to his name and be an asset to one of the biggest
and most successful companies in the Philippines, the San Miguel Corporation.
He
was so innocent then that he never knew yet the pains and struggles of the
roller coaster ride journey they called life. But despite the obstacles he
never stopped dreaming. Because he wasn’t born rich he was motivated to strive
for academic excellence and so he passed the admission test of the Mindanao
State University System. He continued soaring high hoping that one day he’ll
get his diploma and earn a degree. His graduation marks the culmination of his parents’
efforts to send all of them (six siblings) into college despite their financial
constraints.
It
might be a cliché that a college diploma guarantees success later in life but this
haciendero in the making believes that with his diploma at least he is one step
closer to his dreams. With his upbringing and with his training at the
university he would surely face the world with confidence. After all he wasn’t after
for a luxurious life he just wanted a comfortable yet simple life. His parents
taught him to live simply so when he grows up he would appreciate the value of
things and not their prices.
